Malaysia Airlines to stop flights to South Africa in Feb 2012

update (08 Dec 2011): By unveiling a business plan to bring the airline back to profit, Malaysia Airlines confirmed that it will suspend its services to Cape Town and Johannesburg along with other loss-making routes.The last flight from South Africa will depart on 31 January 2012.

According to various news reports, Malaysia Airlines is currently planning to stop operating flights to Cape Town and Johannesburg as early as February 2012. "The Star online" from Malaysia reports that the airline will cut the routes in a bid to reduce costs.
Malaysia Airlines is currently conducting a review of its entire route network and sources claimed that there would be more route cuts.
